“The Legend of the Three Caballeros”
“Legend of the Three Caballeros” can now be seen on Disney+ if you are interested in watching the series.
This story has been making the rounds on the Internet so if you haven’t heard of it, I’d be shocked. It appears that Disney has quietly released 13 episodes of a brand-new animated series, “Legend of the Three Caballeros.” It was released in the Philippines early last month on the Disneylife streaming app. There is no word yet on when or if the show will debut in the U.S.
The premise is that Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles have all inherited the possessions of Donald’s Great-Grandfather, Clinton Coot. The three immediately want to make a profit by selling off the deceased adventurer’s/collector’s antiques – until they come across a magical book, and they get involved in an epic war between good and evil.
I watched the first episode last night, and I was pleased to see the three characters reunited in this series. The animation was clean, and it immediately reminded me of the classic Donald animated shorts. Very nostalgic.
During my viewing, I was surprised to see that one of my Donald Duck desktop wallpapers (links provided below) was used for a few seconds in the cartoon. Keep in mind that the wallpaper was completely drawn and colored by me, using the original Donald Duck title screen as reference. I took a screenshot and compared the wallpaper to the image in the scene. Donald’s head was a perfect match! Even the background matches perfectly. Is this to be considered high praise or simply laziness by some Disney employee? Kidding! I’ll have to keep watching the series to see if I spot any more little surprises.
