Make Your Own Kaleidocycle
What is a kaleidocycle? Well, it’s hard to describe. Yet, you’ve probably seen one in passing.
A kaleidocycle is an even number of tetraherda connected to form a ring (of sorts). Despite its flat and rigid sides, it can turn inside-out indefinitely. What’s more, four different colors, patterns, or images can be applied to the toy. With every turn, the images cycle through. It’s an interesting fidget toy.
FoldPlay.com has a page where you can upload your own images, and it will spit out a printable kaleidocycle that you can build yourself. We tried it with four of our desktop wallpaper designs, which we converted to a PDF for you to download.
There are two other kaleidocycle shapes available—hex, oct, & cube—but we recommend starting with the hex design. We also recommend using the images found here to assist with assembly.
