3 Classic Pirates of the Caribbean Model Kits Resurrected for Modern Hobbyists

In the 1970s, MPC released several (7 in total) model kits inspired from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and concept art. The plastic kits featured pirates and skeletons in fun scenes, and each had Zap Action! That is, they had triggers that made them move and interact within their scenes. These model kits are highly sought after, and they sell for hundreds of dollars. Fortunately, there is a far more inexpensive solution.

Round 2 Corporation has re-released three of the old Pirates of the Caribbean model kits—sans any Disney copyright material—as part of their Lindberg line. The Lindberg line takes old models, cleans them up, and improves them. They’re the same models, only better. The modern kits also come with a pirate medallion and doubloon as a fun little extra.

The renamed kits include “Hex Marks the Spot,” “Dismay Be the End,” and “In the Pinch of Peril” (formerly “Dead Man’s Raft,” “Fate of the Mutineers,” and “Condemned to Chains Forever.”). Hopefully, they will continue the collection.
