 The Disney Experience  |  July 7, 2018

On Wednesday, October 27, 1954, Walt Disney introduced the world to Disneyland. Our first desktop wallpaper was inspired by a simple one-page ad in TV Guide (kids, ask your parents what a TV Guide is!).

Next, we have the triumphant return of the Herb Ryman Disneyland map! Our previous version was at such a low resolution (800×600) that we had to retire it a years ago. But, we found a high-res copy and cleaned it up. Even better, we also did a color version, painstakingly colored by hand.

For a neat effect, put these two wallpapers into rotation on your desktop. They’re sized and positioned perfectly, so you can watch the colors appear/disappear when your operating system changes the wallpaper.

Oh, and let’s all wish Trader Sam a happy birthday today! Yay!
