Castles Constructed (August 20 · 2008)

It's a big Fan Board update, featuring some awesome and unique Sleeping Beauty Castle paper model builds.

Errors (August 10 · 2008)
As a result of the recent site overhaul, there are bound to be errors. I often copy & paste items to save time, and I may have forgotten to correct inconsistencies. If you do see anything out of the ordinary, please email .

Robots on the Loose (August 8 · 2008)

Finally, a decent Wall·E model (no offense to other existing Wall·E models)! Jules has made several quality character models, including Eve and the Axiom.

I Run a Clean Ship (August 8 · 2008)

There's nothing like floating down the Rivers of America aboard the Mark Twain on a summer afternoon. The long-anticipated paper model is here!

New Style (August 7 · 2008)
You may notice more than a few changes to the site design. That's because it was completely rebuilt with CSS. It takes some doing to set everything up, making sure things align just right, and fixing clashing styles, but it makes things a whole lot easier to manage in the long run.

CSS also uses a lot less code, improving load times and improving search engine ranks . . . or so the theory goes. While I have been using CSS for the past year or so (I know, I'm more than a little late to the game), it only formatted text, and that was sloppy at best.

CSS: The Missing Manual really helped. It taught how and why CSS works; it gave tons of online sources for software, code, templates; it explains why doctypes are super important; and it even dove extensively into the quirks and extreme bugginess of Internet Explorer. My love of Firefox has grown by leaps and bounds after reading the horrors of IE!

Theme Park Attractions, Vol. 13 (July 20 · 2008)

It's a few days late (July 17), but it's here. Brand-spankin' new theme park icons.

Fan Board Update (July 2 · 2008)

Apologies for the lateness of the Fan Board update.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night . . . (June 25 · 2008)

This is the very first Disney Experience screensaver! Being busy with Doorless Chambers, I naturally wanted to experiment with something related to the Haunted Mansion.

The screensaver works on all Windows systems, 95 through Vista (sorry, no Mac versions). I don't know the system requirements, so performance may differ from PC to PC, and I cannot diagnose errors.

An Update on an Update, and Haunting News (June 18 · 2008)
I know I just posted an update, but I found a work-around to my PHP problem (I love the Internet sooo much!). I found a way to please the PHP gods and still use absolute URLs in an 'include' script. For those of you who are interested, I was originally using this code: <?php include('http://www.disneyexperience.com/disclaimer.txt'); ?>. But by using this code: <?php include($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] .'/disclaimer.txt'); ?>, everybody's happy. In fact, I was able to replace the errors using the ever-so-handy Edit>Replace method. So, everything should be back to normal now. But, keep an eye out for anything that I may have missed, will ya?

Now on to far more pleasing news. This year, the Disney Experience is participating in the Doorless Chambers event. In fact, I'm the one putting this all together. Doorless Chambers is a free online trick-or-treating event for the entire Disney fan community. It's like when this site releases a Disney Halloween treat every year, only you travel from site to site, and it lasts for a full week (October 25-31).

If you have a Disney fan site, you just might be eligible to participate. But, there are some strict Rules & Guidelines that you have to follow. If you have questions, ask, and if you're not sure if you qualify, sign up anyway. You just might get accepted.

So far, we have sites like DoomBuggies.com, TellNoTales.com, Haunted Dimensions, and Virtual Magic. But whether you apply or not, you can grab one or more linking banners to help spread the word.

Urgent Update (June 18 · 2008)
The site has been working very weird yesterday, and unfortunately, I didn't know about it until late yesterday evening. It seems certain PHP codes have decided not to work with absolute URLs. This is causing a lot of unwanted page effects, such as missing page information. As far as I can tell, the search engine and paper model pages are completely out of commission at the moment.

I will be hand-changing code on nearly 200 pages, changing absolute URLs to relative URLs. It's not fun, but it has to be done. Everything should be up and running in 1 or 2 days.

If anyone has any knowledge of the PHP 'include' script, and why I can no longer use absolute URLs, please let me know if there's a reason for this insanity or if there's something I can do about it.

Risen from the Depths (June 12 · 2008)

You don't need a pact with Davey Jones to sail this ship. Paper model designer uhu02 (real name unknown) created the Black Pearl, and he has graciously allowed a link to be posted to his Blog. The site is in Japanese, but you can easily find the model and the PDF link.

Avast! (June 2 · 2008)

Summer is already shaping up to be adventurous, whether you prefer to either follow a tattered map in search of buried treasure, or explore booby-trapped temples. So . . .

Here is the latest set of system icons (72 in all), inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions and films.

Beware the Eye of Mara (May 22 · 2008)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is finally released today! And to celebrate the good professor's adventures, here is the Temple of the Forbidden Eye paper model. This last-minute design is chock full of details from the Mara mural inside the temple to the cracks and moss.

Thanks goes to Joe Cardello for providing some crucial reference materials.

Mark V (May 12 · 2008)

Becky shares a special project on the Fan Board today: the Mark V Monorail paper models. There are no instructions yet, but the models are simple enough to figure out and assemble. I can tell you that some cardmodel communities have been looking for a monorail model for some time, and I think they'll finally be appeased.

Who's got the Sweetest Disposition? (May 1 · 2008)

This Donald Duck title card wallpaper was recreated with crisp, clean graphics in high resolution to adorn your desktop.
